  1. Negative beliefs about yourself (ex. self doubt, worthiness).

    • We are not born believing these things about ourselves, usually these negative beliefs come from life experiences and how we have interpreted them and stored them in our brain. Therapy can help you further explore where those beliefs come from, identify events that contributed to them, and process them through EMDR, leading to greater confidence and self esteem.

  2. Traumatic life experiences that have created feelings of shame, guilt, anger, resentment, etc.

    • EMDR can help you let go of those feelings and find relieve, comfort, acceptance, and coming to terms with the past so it does not hold you back in your future.

  3. Struggle creating healthy relationships.

    • If you have a hard time trusting others, engaging in people pleasing, getting too easily attached, or the opposite, finding yourself with walls up, it is possible that not having your emotional needs met during childhood or past traumatic relationships may be getting in the way. EMDR can help work through unhealthy relationship patterns.

  4. Symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress.

    • EMDR can help you identify and address the root cause of these symptoms, specially if there is a history of trauma, and reduce the emotional disturbance those experiences create in your everyday life.

  5. Have tried traditional talk therapy without success.

    • If you have not seen the results you were hoping for, then EMDR might be worth trying whether it is by itself or complimentary to talk therapy. With EMDR we do not have to talk through the traumatic experiences, instead we focus on your brain processing them.
